Why waste all that money on expensive skin care products when you can knock up some great inexpensive innovative skincare products from stocks in your kitchen cupboard, like chocolate, honey, thick cream, and oatmeal! Just make sure your kids don’t eat the mixture before you have a chance to apply it!

It is true, chocolate is becoming one of the most popular additions to beauty regimes. It softens the skin, helping to release serotonin, which makes you feel happy and is one of the most natural remedies for skin care. It is being used in some of the best salons out there.

Well actually you can buy chocolate guilt free, as despite people saying that chocolate is bad for you, makes you fat, will give you spots, really what you should concentrate on is its ability to protect the skin layers from free radical damage, and smooth out wrinkles. Cocoa powder, which chocolate contains a lot of (the darker the chocolate the more cocoa content and the better for you) is an antioxidant. Chocolate is both yummy, good for you in small doses, and one of the great natural remedies for skin care too.

Now let’s take a look at how you use the chocolate in recipes, to create natural remedies for skin care. What you need to do is mix 4 tablespoons of cocoa (not strictly chocolate I know, but when mixed with the other bits, it is good enough to eat), 3 tablespoons of honey (the runny variety), 2 tablespoons of thick cream (which can be sour cream) and a level tablespoon of oatmeal, now you are ready.

I think you will agree that the smell is almost as good as the taste when you mix these innovative skincare ingredients together. Once you have mixed all these ingredients into smooth consistency, start apply the mixture to your face and massage it in- this will exfoliate your skin and get rid of any dead skins layers. You have just created one of the best natural remedies for skin care.

Now go and lie down and relax for twenty minutes, after applying the mixture of course. The smell of cocoa will actually help you relax and every mom needs twenty minutes time to herself, every now and again! So as the cocoa helps soothe your face, moisturize it and make you happy, the honey will open up clogged pores and deeply cleanse your face, and the oatmeal has already done its job in helping the exfoliation part earlier.

After the twenty minutes of relaxation time, with lukewarm water wash the recipe off and you will notice how supple, fresh and good looking your skin is. Who would have thought chocolate could have such a use as an innovative skincare product and taste so lovely too?

Keep them to yourself or share these wonderful innovative skincare recipes with your friends and family, just make sure you keep the best ones for yourself. There are plenty of good recipes around and all it takes to get them is a little bit of internet research on natural remedies for skin care.
